Knock out blow for Rossi.

It’s not every day that you see a coach attempt to KO one of their players, especially for a club as significant as Fiorentina. Well, the Viola’s coach Delio Rossi struck a blow to Serbian youngster Adem Ljajic.

Politics and football collide.

Eastern European football has forever struggled to rid itself from the perils of politics. This week has proved no different for Ukraine who have witnessed a string of nations denounce the current political climate and refuse to send dignitaries to the country during the European Championships over the summer. Shirokov warms himself to Zenit’s fans.

Rule number 1 of not being a hated sportsman is to no abuse those people who help to pay your wages. Obviously Zenit’s PR team aren’t getting the message through to their players as Roman Shirokov so disgustingly shows. The Russian midfielder has had a troubled relationship with Zenit fans over recent weeks as he shunned one fan’s request to have his shirt after the club sealed their second consecutive league title against Dinamo Moscow. Banners adorned the Petrovsky Stadium criticising the player, and it obviously riled him as he bumped into a Zenit fan after their game against Rubin Kazan and proceed to deliver an expletive driven speech.

Celebration of the season?

This is just… weird. Milan Petržela may have been sporting a new mohawk hairdo, however his goal celebration following his hat trick most likely garnered yet more attention.

His team mates lifted him up, tipped him onto his head, rubbed his head on a team mate’s boot and thrusted him into a television camera. Don’t believe us? Take a look at this video. It’s at around the 3:40 mark.
